Stop the comparisons, Allen Iverson was saying, at least
for a little while. Stop trying to compare LeBron James,
Cleveland’s second-year wunderkind, to Michael Jordan.
At least not yet.

這個話題會被提到，是因為 LeBron James 和克里夫蘭騎士隊
在今晚費城的 Wachovia Center主場將出戰地主隊七六人。今

The subject came up because James and the Cavaliers face
the 76ers tonight in the Wachovia Center. It could be a
fascinating night, because the Cavs also include Eric Snow,
Iverson’s longtime backcourt partner.

「再也沒有比 LeBron James 還要適合拿 MVP的，」戰神小艾
說：「他理解比賽，並從各方面掌控比賽，近乎全能；而且他
在關鍵時刻也都能做到。最重要的是，他打球一點也不自私，
他可以自己得分，但他同時也可以做好傳球助攻、搶籃板，以
及防守。」

”They wouldn’t be talking about [James] for MVP for nothing,”
Iverson said. ”I mean, he has the whole game, the whole
package. He has it all. He can do it on both ends of the
court. He’s unselfish, he can score the ball, he can pass,
he can rebound, play defense.

「當每個人都拿他和 Michael作比較，我覺得大家想法都大同
小異。他們隨時都準備好要將 Michael接班人的稱謂套在某一
個知名球星身上，而且他們從來不會一次指出好幾個，因為有
太多的知名球星被提過，包括 LeBron 、 Kobe 和 T-Mac。」

”As far as everybody comparing him to Michael Jordan, I
think people are kind of out of their minds right now.
They probably want Mi-chael so bad that they’re ready
to just put it on somebody else. And not to say ’anybody,’
because if you talk about anybody close to him it has to
be somebody like [James] or Kobe Bryant, Tracy McGrady,
somebody like that.”

小艾接著說：「聯盟在 Micheal離開了兩年之後，一直在找人
來與他相比，這對 Micheal不公平，對 LeBron 也是。這就好
比要你把腳塞進別人的鞋子裡一樣，對我、對 LeBron ，或是
對 Kobe 以及其他被說過（當喬丹接班人）的球員來講，我們

”After 2 years and the legacy that [Jordan] left, it’s
not unfair to Mike, it’s unfair to LeBron for you to
try to get him to fill some shoes like that. You can
have those shoes, and myself and LeBron and Kobe and
everybody can try to put their foot in those shoes,
and they still wouldn’t fit. But I always say,
if you’re compared to somebody like Michael Jordan,
you must be doing something right.”
